Ru: Only slightly shaken by the rickety ride into Kyrgyzstan over the Pamir mountains on a 40 year old Antonov plane, we cruised into Bishkek and straight into a press conference with local journos. Okay, it wasn’t exactly packed, but the handful of hacks that turned up were really keen to hear about what it was like to be a rock band in Afghanistan. Possibly to our surprise, what came out of our mouths was pretty positive. We smiled at each other as we realised what a cool music scene with have in Kabul with Afghan kids like Kabul Dreams and District Unknown making rock music alongside us. We also put out the message to the Kyrgyz kids that we’re not only playing for ourselves, we’re also looking for talent to bring to Afghanistan later this year for the country’s very first rock festival. Stay tuned, folks.
